This problem comes and goes. I've had it before, then it went away, now it's back. I don't know what has caused it to change Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Close Firefox after opening several tabs. 2. Open Firefox again and it defaults to one tab on my homepage no matter how many tabs were opened. 3. Expected Results: Firefox should have opened with all the tabs opened when I last closed it I've had this problem before. When it occurs it is constant until I "do something", but I don't know what that something is. It could be a reinstall of Firefox. Then the open tabs from last time works persistently until "something happens", but I don't know what that something is either.
I reinstalled Firefox and this fixed the problem. I did not remove any Firefox files before I did the reinstall

I experience the same bug on Firefox 3.5 Beta4 on Max OS 10.5.7 (Intel platform). My experience is this feature (restore last open tabs) has not worked a single time since I installed Beta 4 soon after it was released. It's pretty annoying--I hope it's fixed for 3.5 RC1.

Resolving this bug as WORKSFORME per comment #1. Paul: Make sure that you don't have Firefox set to clear your History at shutdown and that you correctly quit Firefox through Cmd+Q without closing the windows first. If neither of these is your issue, please get assistance over at http://support.mozilla.com/ .

Thanks for the super quick response. I checked and I do not have the setting to clear history on shutdown. I tried to close via Cmd+Q as you suggested and it does appear to remember my tabs as it should. However, this seems very odd to me. I am new to the Mac platform (long time Windows user) and I'm used to clicking on the red 'close' button to close a program. I don't know if this is a Mac 'convention' to behave this way but if not perhaps it could be considered a future enhancement to remember tabs if the main window is closed first? I'd be happy to open a new enhancement request if you think there may be value.

You'll have to change your habits: on OS X, closing a window does _not_ close the program... (one of the many subtle differences between OS X and Windows)
