i have specified that junk mail should be moved to my Junk folder. when new messages are loaded into my Inbox (IMAP) and identified as junk, they remain in the Inbox rather than being moved.  messages that are manually identified as Junk are automatically moved to the Junk folder.  (this used to work.)

Expected Results:  
all messages identified as junk should be moved to the Junk folder.

Hi!

This is the same bug on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/155759 , is a multi-platform issue. I copy&paste the hotfix mentioned there in comment #13:

Go to your email accounts, and for EACH account be sure that the move to spambox is checked,
but do not check the first round checkbox, but the other named "other", even if that rule moves
tot he same spam box as the first option.

This is still a bug in b7 under Windows. The above suggestion does not fix the problem.

Curiously, what happens when you manually junk a message? Do you get a dialog similar to that shown in the attached image?

There are 200 bugs regarding junk filed against Thunderbird. I suspect this is a duplicate of one or more of those, so I am going to close this bug. Please file a bug against Thunderbird if you do not see this bug there. I am going to mark this 'wontfix' as the Thunderbird folks should fix this.
