Other strings suffer the same problem (notably "Toggle interface translation on") but "Log In" is the main one. Reproducible: Always
Simone, please list others that have this problem, to get them all updated in one bug.

Ok, one I have already added: "Toggle interface translation on". If I find others, I will report here. Bye :)
I could have swore this used to be localizable. Could bug 440171 be the cause of this?
Chris, I remember it never was - I can be wrong, though :)
(In reply to comment #2) > Ok, one I have already added: "Toggle interface translation > on". If I find others, I will report here. "Toggle interface translation on" is localizable for me. Do you think link in "Contributor Tools" menu?
Yes, the link in "Contributor Tools".
(In reply to comment #6) > Yes, the link in "Contributor Tools". This seems to be localizable: {if $smarty.session.interactive_translation_mode eq 'on' }{tr}Toggle interface translation off{/tr}{else}{tr}Toggle interface translation on{/tr}{/if} at http://support-stage.mozilla.org/tiki-admin_modules.php?um_edit=contrib_tools#editcreate

(In reply to comment #7) > This seems to be localizable: > {if $smarty.session.interactive_translation_mode eq 'on' }{tr}Toggle interface > translation off{/tr}{else}{tr}Toggle interface translation on{/tr}{/if} Hi Paul, the strings do exist even in the production environment but it doesn't get translated in it locale.
(In reply to comment #9) > Hi Paul, the strings do exist even in the production environment but it doesn't > get translated in it locale. Simone, So, on stage (logged in), I went to https://support-stage.mozilla.org/tiki-edit_languages.php?locale=it and I clicked on option #2 (add new translation) (or, in <it>: "Aggiungi nuova traduzione (se non è possibile trovare una traduzione esistente da modificare)") Then I added "Turn interface translation on" and turned it into what you can see on the right: "[it!] Turn interface translation on" I hope this solves your problem, but please let me know if not!
Paul, I did manage to change the string "Turn interface translation on" - it did not exist, there was another similar string- but the string "Log In" already exists and it it already translated correctly: "Accedi".

Maybe it will help. I also have "Log In" translated (bottom of the picture), but I cannot see it.
Simone, Bogdancev: I have a fix waiting for review for the "Log in" issue. If you find others that appear to be unlocalizable, post them here. Above in comment 10 I was saying that "Turn interface translation on" is actually localizable.
Paul Craciunoiu: ...I was saying that "Turn interface translation on" is actually localizable. I prove, it is.
Hi Paul. The string "Add another screencast", added recently, doesn't seem to be localizable. Bye
Thank you Simone!

Summary: The string "Log In" in the SUMO homepage is not localizable → String "Log In" and "Add another screencast" are not localizable
This too is really minor and should make it into 1.2.1
Target Milestone: 1.3 → 1.2.1
Paul, I seem to have found another string: "Please log in" that is shown when you are not logged in and click on a direct link to an article in the staging area. e.g. https://support.mozilla.com/it/kb/Pulsante+di+identificazione+del+sito?bl=n (which is not *yet* public) The translation table contains only the string "Please login" and maybe it is easier to change this than to add another string. Bye
(In reply to comment #18) > Paul, I seem to have found another string: "Please log in" that is shown when > you are not logged in and click on a direct link to an article in the staging > area. I couldn't find any instance where "Please log in" is not localizable. It seems the article you provided has been approved to go public :) Can you try creating a test page on our staging server and point me to that? http://support-stage.mozilla.org/ Thank you Simone! It's better to find them all than to miss some ;)
No need to create a test page: just log off support-stage and click on this link https://support-stage.mozilla.org/it/kb/*Impossibile+cancellare+la+cronologia+dalla+Barra+degli+indirizzi?bl=n You will see a big "Please log in" - which I cannot localize :-)
I went to https://support-stage.mozilla.org/tiki-edit_languages.php And added "Please log in" to translate as "(it tra) Please log in" so it seems fine to me. See: https://support-stage.mozilla.org/it/kb/*Impossibile+cancellare+la+cronologia+dalla+Barra+degli+indirizzi?bl=n Are you suggesting we rename it to "Please login"? I would agree that we should stick with one or the other! :)
No, it's perfect! I just meant to say that the only string I found was "Please login" but I think you could leave only the "Please login" string. See bug 461409
Sigh... I'm too tired to answer in bug reports... Sorry. The previous comment shoud be: I just meant to say that the only string I found was "Please login" but I think you could leave only the "Please log in" string. See bug 461409

Simone, if you wouldn't mind taking a look at this on staging, that would really be appreciated; thanks!
Hi Stephen, I've just seen that the string now is localized. Thanks alot! When will this be passed in the production environment? Bye :-)
Hi Simone: thanks for helping us test! https://wiki.mozilla.org/Support/SUMOdev_Meeting_Notepad#Next_releases shows that it'll be pushed no later than July 30th; possibly before then if QA wraps up verification of 1.2.1. Thanks again!
