confirmed with 081708 mozila build on NT. We don't seem to be able to resolve anything beyond ftp://ftp.jcu.edu.au/

this really belongs in webshell/docshell. Necko does report an unresolvable host correctly till OnEnd in docshell. ->rpotts

I have a similiar problem with accessing ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly from Win98SE. I also have various problems with FTP under Linux, but it seems to work better there.

I see this for any FTP URL containing a path element; ie. ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/ works fine but ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/ doesn't. The actual host name seems to be of less importance.

The given URL worked for me, but I cannot use ftp with mozilla - it does not shows all directories/files that actually are on the ftp. All other browsers works well. At ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly I see only 2 directories: 2000-07-10-08-M17 2000-07-10-08-M17 All other is not present. Tested with 2000092320 on win2000.
