See e.g. bug 489999's screenshot & mockup. We'd like to keep the same stats as we currently get with the start page URL, so we'll need the call to be to things like: http://live.mozillamessaging.com/thunderbird/accountsummary?locale=en-US&version=3.0b3pre&os=Darwin&buildid=20090520112740 and http://live.mozillamessaging.com/thunderbird/foldersummary?locale=en-US&version=3.0b3pre&os=Darwin&buildid=20090520112740

Not a problem. Usually, content doesn't live directly under live.mozillamessaging.com, but gets redirected somewhere else, like www.mozillamessaging.com. As long as the content makes it into www.mozillamessaging.com svn, I'll setup the correct redirects.

Bug 489999 has been moved out, so we don't need this for Thunderbird 3, probably will need it for 3.1 so setting blocking on that for now.

Since bug 489999 is no longer blocking 3.1, this one shouldn't either. Setting blocking-. Will file another bug to make our multistate flags reflect into the Websites/www.mozillamessaging.com product, as we'll need this at some point.

Ok, time to revive this bug. :) Since my account/folder summaries extension is nearly finished, we should probably consider doing this now. I have a mockup of the iframe snippet on my own webspace, but it would probably be best to put it on mozillamessaging.com (or some Mozilla-hosted domain anyway). I'm not totally sure what the text in the iframe should say, but the mockup is available here: http://teamboxel.com/account-summary/summary.html The speech bubble is all CSS, although maybe it should really be SVG (I'd have to learn SVG to do that, though). I'm guessing we want some kind of query string passed in like the start page, and also some kind of localization. While these summaries are in addon form (i.e. before they land in Thunderbird proper), maybe a quick survey to get feedback on the addon would be nice.

Here's a simple placeholder page that just links to the Mail Summaries issue tracker. We'll probably need something more involved later (e.g. when/if this is a part of Thunderbird proper), but for now this should be ok. We might want to make sure the page isn't cached though, since eventually I gather this will be replacing the Thunderbird start page for keeping stats.
