User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/4.2; Linux) KHTML/4.2.2 (like Gecko) Build Identifier: Jaunty Rc KDE 4.2.2 KMail vers. 1.11.2 Quad 9600 AMD 64bit 8gb Axiom 667mhz DDR2 ASUS M3N-HT Mempipe, Jaunty Rc KDE 4.2.2 800W BFG PS ext4 file system 500gb & 1000gb SATA HDD's. Approximately 24 hours ago, I fresh installed Jaunty. I installed Jaunty in a 20gb ext4 /. I used 16gb for swap. One partition mounted as /home approx. 450gb SATA ext4, one partition mounted on same drive as /home/steven/backup approx. 475gb. SATA ext4 One partition exclusive on the 500gb SATA mount point /home/steven/backup2. Everything has worked well and normal for about 24 hours. I was answering emails a few minutes ago and the letters did not print as I was typing them. I would pause and wait for them, because I read what I type as I type it to check my spelling. It would resume for a while, then pause again and again. I believe my system is set up well. I checked the memory recently and found it to be in perfect working order (it is ECC, by the way). I am not too experienced, but it feels like memory is overworked, but I checked using 'top' and there was little to no drain on the memory from any working applications. I am reporting this for two reasons. I purposely used ext4 for this installation to verify that ext4 is working properly, and previously had permissions problems that some from the Kubuntu users list indicated might be ext4 related. Others suggested my mounting was suspect, so I have indicated how I mounted my partitions for your consideration. The problem seems exclusive to KMail in Kontact. I type here with no lagging print problems. I may have overdone the detail of my equipment, but I wanted you to see it was unlikely a memory or hardware problem. I used lagging print as the terminology for searching for bugs; I couldn't think of a more accurate description. I mention this because if you understand the problem, perhaps I should have searched using a different explanation. That's everything I can think of. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open KMail 2.Respond to an email. 3.Typing as fast as I am able, the print pauses while I continue to type many words past when it pauses. I stop and wait, and it catches up, acting like I am out of memory, which is not a possibility, I don't think. Actual Results: The third step above explained everything as well as I am able. I would be happy to answer any inquiry on your part. Expected Results: Print should have kept up with my typing speed. I am not that fast. No reasonable comment.
You are reporting this bug in the wrong Bugzilla installation. You want KDE Bugzilla, not Mozilla Bugzilla. Go to https://bugs.kde.org/.
