Details

Build 2000081608 WinNT. Some headers in the thread pane (like the read 'dot' or the flag) are not resizeable at their right size. This could be logical thinking, but it works out quite unlogical. Try for example this nice one: grab the right boundary of the date header. drag it to the left, so that the date disappears. Now don't stop, drag further. And -surprise!- the date appears again, while some other fields are also being resized. Or this one: I had the status field as the last field on the right. Left to it was the flag field. Now make the status field as small as possible, either by dragging its right side to the left (which doesnt scroll to the left then, but draws the adjecent flag field into the status field) or by dragging the flags left just over the status field. Then figure out how to get it back to bigger size... It can be done, but not in any normal, logical, intuitive way... Clue: grab the status' right and drag this as far as possible to the left. Just play around a bit resizing, you will notice more of this fun stuff. Now seriouw, maybe the fields as 'read' (green dot) and flag should just not be resizeable. Then of the other fields, either side can be made resizeable, if a non-resizeable field is adjacent it should just move along. I think the weird behaviour of the mail/news window panes are already in another bug (the entire window also resizes, when resizing a header field). This bug I think is related to bug 48036 ?
We have some other resizing bugs out there. this may be a duplicate
schut@gissrv.iend.wau.nl - this works for me on 20001020 Win95 - are you still seeing this problem on recent builds of Mozilla? Gerv
Well, it's a lot better than some time ago, but still sometimes behaviour is a little strange. For example when I have these 'items' on: thread, subject, sender, read, date, status, size, and status and size are minimized, and I try to resize the right border of the 'date' by dragging it to the left, the left border of 'date' moves to the right very quickly, while the right border only moves a little bit. I just tried, it also works without status and size on. It only happens on dragging the right border of 'date', even when 'date' is on the far right side of the pane and should not be draggable to the left. After a short playing around, i didn't find it on the other items, only 'date' features this. Vincent.

I'm still seeing this in today's build under Win2k. And it looks very much like a dupe of bug 79961. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 79961 ***
