Or we could call it "What is Firefox". I was at the local library today, and spotted a copy of Firefox for Dummies, and one of the first chapters was "So what is a browser anyway". Given how people often refer to it as a search engine (even FOX News :-) ) or anti-virus, it would be good to clear that up in a KB article. This would also go a long way in improving the internet IQ of Firefox users.
Yep, I agree, if that means anything to you. Just to add, that would put Firefox in users head as "default web browser", or as a synonym for a web browser. Also, every functionality of a web browser may refer to Firefox itself.
I think "What is Firefox" is a good title.
Taking this.

I'll help you. I might do a video based on the one i told you to watch. Screencasts are always fun (except when flash, ogg or any other converter stuff fails and leaves me there for hours trying to convert)
Finished the first draft of the article
Tobbi: are you wanting to put this up for first review? If so set RESO FIXED to attract attention.

I find it too technical. Word it like you are explaining to someone at a bar. (heck, have a few beers before you write it) Here's a link to Firefox for Dummies. The "what is a browser" section is on page 7. http://books.google.com/books?id=EyLiIBMNW-wC&printsec=frontcover&dq=firefox

Okay, Tanner! Let's discuss how we can make it easier to understand...
Tobbi, you taking this, or should I?
We can't figure out what to do with it, resetting to default assignee

I would like to take over this :o)
Thanks! Just mark this as fixed when it's ready for review.

Augi, are you working on this?
IMHO, the idea you have of this article is just stupid and impossible. You want something: - Short; - Simple; - Easy to understand; - Non-technical. However, these concepts are total opposites: - If you want to explain something, you need to start from a concept ("Browser") and develop it into ideas. Explaining something will never produce a short output. - If you want to make something shorter, you combine various ideas and resume them to a single concept ("World Wide Web", for example). I have given my contribution twice on this article, here's my final sentence on this: Simple != Short To sum my ideas up, i disagree with the path this article is taking; I think this article is not focused on its potential readers (don't argue with me on this point because I have my opinion on who would read this article) and IMHO this article will be useless.
I'm closing this bug as invalid, because we don't track article requests in Bugzilla anymore. Please open a new thread in the article forum [1] and link back to this discussion. Thanks. [1] https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forums/knowledge-base-articles
