49652 - ftp urls shouldn't load in sidebar

I've noticed that if you double-click an ftp url in bookmarks in the sidebar, it
will open the subdirectories in place instead of in the content area. This seems
wrong.

shortly about two months ago, but it clearly hasn't been.  I think that's long 
enough for all these bugs to remain assigned to nobody.

why has this bug been around so long (4+ months)? Could someone please nominate
a target milestone? Thank You.

FTP servers in bookmarks need to open the filelist in the main browser window,
not turn into a menustructure themselves. This is particularly annoying since:

a) There are no tooltips to show the entire text of the directory/file one is
about to click on (the width of mysidebar is limited by wide web pages).

b) One cannot see the entire names of all listed files in mysidebar bookmars

c) mozilla is not supported by GetRight download manager and therefore being
able to right-click a file and selecting "copy link location" (GetRight then
captures the link, and if it is a recognizable file extension, starts the download)

Peter, this bug has been around so long because no-one has fixed it. The way to 
get a bug fixed is to submit a patch, not to fill the bug report with comments.
