With a large number of entries under a single tag (324 in the case I've tested) the bookmark organizer is very slow to load the bookmarks with a particular tag.  The configuration I've tested also has a relatively large number of bookmarks and tags as well which might be relevant as well.

Note this may be related to Bug 490512 about slow bookmark searching.  However, looking up the bookmarks with a particular tag seems pretty common so it might be useful to optimize this case with a new index, change in the sqlite schema or both.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start with clean profile, Restore bookmark file with many tags/entries.
2. Go to bookmark organizer expand the tags, select a tag with many entries.
3. 
Actual Results:  
Firefox becomes unresponsive for a long period before displaying the bookmarks with that tag.

Expected Results:  
Bookmarks with a given tag are displayed quickly.

how do you open the tag, do you click it in the left pane or double click it in the right pane. Does following these 2 paths change anything regarding speed?

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body   contains   places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
