Changing my default or removing it completely does not "stick", once I restart Firefox it's right back to being default! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Click on Manage Search Engines 2.Either choose a different default search engine or to remove Fast Browser Search 3.Restart Firefox Actual Results: Upon restarting Firefox, the changes made previously to either change search engine default or to remove Fast Browser Search, are gone and settings have been returned to previous settings. Expected Results: I expect that when I either change my default search engine OR remove a search engine (Fast Browser Search) all together, for the browser to maintain these settings after restarting. Was this "Fast Browser Search" search engine included with the version 3 update? Or was it installed by a website that I visited?

It's not installed by Firefox, it's malware that has infected your computer. An application keeps reinstalling the add-on every time. See http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090404035703AA68AsY how to remove it. And may I suggest that you use the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware at <http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php> to scan your computer (or a similar service) ? It's free.

Please don't close bugs too fast without requesting more information from the reporter. Thanks! Christina, which add-ons do you have installed? Is a Myspace add-on under those? You should try to deactivate add-ons step by step and test changing your search engine. Is it still stick after all add-ons have been deactivated?

It's called "Fast Browser search protection", and it has nothing to do with Myspace. Henrik, please read the links before you open a bugreport again. she just described the symptoms of that application. It's not the first time that it's reported.
