(this might be invalid, but I want to get it documented) hExDj on irc #thunderbird reported junk mail not moving, but it was a couple months ago. TB2021. The junk mail settings in his screen shots look fine. he's pop, yahoo with webmail extension. Error console has exception nsJunkMailPlugin.resetTrainingData nsresult 0x80004001 NS_ERROR_NOT_IMPLEMENTED location: chrome://messenger/content/preferences/privacy.js line 67 as seen in http://content.screencast.com/users/hExDj/folders/Jing/media/398d6d48-f857-4f6e-b51b-d802ecf8bcab/2009-06-11_1508.png which is attached <rkent> "someone has changed the junk mail plugin?" <rkent> Is he running current trunk? I don't see a privavy.js in the current comm-central <wsmwk> tb20021 <rkent> I know very little about TB2 at this point. <wsmwk> we renamed his training.dat because nothing was moving <rkent> The string is correct. In order to get NOT_IMPLEMENTED, there is something fundamentally wrong with the install. <wsmwk> but I see there are other things yet we need to check <rkent> Perhaps he loaded an extension that tried to replace the baues filter, or perhaps it just is horked. let me just check the old source briefly. <rkent> The old source has not NOT_IMPLEMENTED return from ResetTrainingData so for some bizarre reason, he is not connecting with the bayes filter component. <wsmwk> rkent: i'm going to have him reinstall

hexdj writes I uninstalled TB, and reinstalled again - Didn't work I created a new profile and imported my Settings from Before and still the same No matter what emails I mark as Junk they keep coming back and TB does not create a traning.dat at all There was a Kaspersky plugin running that I disabled (even though the Kaspersky Anti-Spam was turned off all along) and it still does not let me train my SpamBox Very frustrating :( The console error is not showing anymore though.
Ok I think the problem might have been Kaspersky and the plugin that it automatically installs on TB However, I had Anti-Spam off all along on Kaspersky Internet Security and the Addon was disabled as well. Still something was not working correctly, I followed the steps here: http://support.kaspersky.com/kis2009/content?qid=208279797 They do not mention it, but you need to Pause Protection on KIS before hand. And I THINK my spam controls are working now, at least I see the Junk log is getting some stuff in there. Will update when I know it's really working.
This actually only works after creating a new profile and then importing everything with MozBackup (except messages from the root of my Sent Folder are gone)

We're now tracking such bugs. This doesn't mean it's something we can fix, merely something we hope to be able to point vendors to so they can investigate. This is an automated message.
