Currently we support a hard-coded list of read-only special collections: Address Book, Bonjour, Top Ten List.  

Instead of, or in addition to (whichever method ultimately makes more sense code-wise), supporting external bookmark sources in autocomplete, we should allow add-ons to plug external bookmarks into the Manager as read-only special collections, so that users can see these bookmarks, too.  Eventually we'll want to  support writing, too, but read-only is a much simpler first step and a useful middle ground.

Stuart says the an issue might be that we probably don't support hierarchies in special collections, "but that's probably not too hard."

(On the design side of things, it would probably be good if the add-ons that enabled various collections lived somewhere in the profile folder for ease-of-disabling when troubleshooting.)

This bug has been buried in the graveyard and has not been updated in over 5 years. It is probably safe to assume that it will never be fixed, so resolving as WONTFIX.
