Firefox has been working quite nicely with IBM Host-On Demand until 3.5. I have included the Java console.

Reproducible: Always

From dupe bug since not a lot of information on what exactly happens was in the report here:

"I use a program package from IBM called Host On Demand that provides terminal
emulation to connect to clients on other systems. This is a Java based package
that is launched from Firefox. It has worked in all previous releases to 3.5
but when I launch the local URL it does not complete the screen. Then in a few
seconds Firefox 3.5 terminates. This is my most critical use of Firefox and I
have no idea what information to send to you. If there is some kind of trace,
etc. you wish provide instructions and I will send more info."

Your Java installation is too old, please upgrade to JRE 1.6 U13 or later (you have U07) because U13 contains the new java plugin from Sun.
So does this mean the default Java that comes with OpenSuse 11.1 is no good for Firefox 3.5?

java full version "1.6.0_0-b14" which yast says is 1.4_b14-24.5.2

Should I remove and install the sun version? (yast says it's 1.6.0u13.1.1.1)
Should I report to OpenSuse as a bug?
I forgot to mention the default install uses openjdk
The old Java plugin should work just fine in Firefox 3.5. Firefox 3.5 does not require the new Java plugin.
Unable to update Java plug-in due to other software dependencies.
I removed openjdk/plugins and installed Sun java with plugins. It is now working so it looks like openjdk is not compatible with ff 3.5. I will stick with Sun java. Thanks for the information about old plugins.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.0) Gecko/20090623 SUSE/3.5.0-2.1 Firefox/3.5

Josh: What's the word on this bug? Any idea what's going on here that was caused by Firefox?

Not blocking 1.9.1.1, but we'll re-consider for 1.9.1.2, likely.

Josh: what - if anything - did we change between 3.0 and 3.5 that would affect Java plugins on XP? Please respond. This needs additional investigation.
blocking1.9.1: ? → -
I don't recall everything we changed that might affect Java plugins on XP, probably a bunch of things. Seems like there is a good chance that our fix for bug 484744 fixed this though, which would mean this is fixed in 3.5.1.

Can anyone reproduce this problem with Firefox 3.5.1?
The problem has been fixed in Firefox 3.5.1. HOD V10.0 is working just fine now.

Thanks, Peter
