User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060214 Firefox/3.0.11

I'm using Slackware-Current and i'm trying to update Firefox 3.0.11 into 3.5. I have tried to use Automatic Update and also offline installation (fresh install) of Firefox 3.5, but it always stopped loading after the browser has been restarted after the installation.

The installation process is success, but it won't load any Firefox window after that. When i checked the PID, it's there and it's active.

This problem only occured on my laptop. It doesn't happened on my workstation and desktop.

Reverting back to 3.0.11 works just fine

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Firefox 3.5 (using Automatic Update/Offline)
2. Restart Browser
3. It won't show anything
Actual Results:
No window showed up

Expected Results:
Firefox window showed up

Slackware-Current
GCC 4.3.3
GTK+2-2.14.7
XOrg 1.6.1

Did you already tried the basic troubleshooting ? :
- safe Mode: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
- creating a new profile: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+Profiles
Yes, i tried to launch in safe mode. It still won't come up with something, but PID is there, meaning that the process is running

about creating new profile is not working, as i can't see any Firefox window.
Do you see any error in the console ?
No, that's the problem
I see no output, including no error messages at all
I solved this problem by commenting libsafe entry at /etc/ld.so.preload.

It seems that by installing libsafe, Firefox 3.5 will not work unless the library is not activated.

What bothers me is that libsafe is one method to provide better security by replacing insecure C functions with secured one. Mozilla 3.5 should have work with libsafe installed.
