Currently we have a terms of service for affiliates. It's passive in that we just mention here and there, no one has to agree to it. We need a site-wide terms of service, following the traditional method of agreement upon user account creation by checking a box. e.g. http://communitystore.mozilla.org/upload Currently, legal is working on the actual content. need... * legal copy * modify registration form to require agreement to terms of service
CC'ing Mary and Catherine for details on the legal copy. Catherine, I *think* Mary mentioned you were already working on a TOS for spreadfirefox.com as a whole (including affiliates and posting of general site content). Is that correct? If so, when do you think we'll have that part ready? If not, who would be the person to talk to for this? Thanks

Alex, you should have the copy by July 13th, at the latest.
I added the form elements for Terms of Service https://spreadfirefox.authstage.mozilla.com/user/register
Hey Cbrady: Any chance you have had a chance to look at this again? Let us know!
Target Milestone: 3.0.3 → 3.0.4
Assignee: nobody → cbrady
Any news on this?
Not sure I updated you on this -- Catherine should have this today. Thanks!
Hey cbrady - this was pushed to our 3.0.4 release that is going out tomorrow night. Is it possible to get it soon? Thanks!
Hey Catherine: We're now releasing 3.0.4 on Tuesday night. Any chance we can get this? Thanks!
Terms of Service for Spread Firefox attached. Let me know if you have any changes or if anything is missing.

Thanks - reviewing now :) We're displaying it on the registration page with a checkbox for acknowledgment. Should we have a link to it in the footer as well or anywhere else on the site?
Hey there: Just read through this and have a few questions. * The first section is a little tough ;-0 Is it possible to include an opening sentence here, i.e. "The Spread Firefox website is intended to be a collaborative space for our users to share ideas, coordinate efforts and become a cohesive marketing force -- we want to keep it a pleasant place!" * The "No spam" section - Are we violating our own TOS with our Affliates program? They can list their website on their profile which is linked to from our top movers and top 5. There is usually no affiliation except for the fact that there is an affiliate button on their site - does this count? It's part of the motivation for joining the program :) Thanks so much!
1. Yes, there should be a link at footer of the page (where the privacy policy link goes). 2. Please feel free to add any non-legalese and to make it reflect the spirit of the site. These are guidelines, wording can changed. 3. "No Spam" - I don't think so since that's a term of the program. My understanding is that there were lots of people (non-affiliate members) making spammy type posts and cluttering up the forums. We can add a clarifying statement, "Does not apply to listing Affiliates' listing under the terms of the Mozilla Affiliates Program" or something to that affect.
I'm confused, is there more to do for this bug? We've planned on launching today, but we're cutting it too close as this is still open, and needs QA. a) we wrap this up in the next couple hours b) we leave it out, launch what we have, and launch this bug next time c) we don't launch today, fix this, and launch on thursday
Severity: normal → blocker
I say you can launch without this and fix it in the bug for next time. We do have site terms for all the Mozilla sites (.com and .org) that covers a lot of this. Don't want to hold up today's launch.
ok, works for me. Thanks cbrady. We'll file spin-off bugs for anything remaining. Marking this one fixed

Sorry guys - it's freaking crazy busy here! This is good to go, but one typo that should be fixed. Spreadfirefox should be Spread Firefox on bullet number 1. Cbrady - I will file a spin off. Thanks :)
