User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5 On and after new installation of Firefox (versions 2.x and 3.x), some search engine are pre-installed (Google, Yahoo, Amazon. eBay and some Wikipedia language versions). I noticed, that the installed search plugins cannot be changed or edited. You can remove them but the new search plugin as signalled by the auto-discovery function is not offered in the list of "add a new search engine". You can only add or update a search-plugin (this regards only the pre-installed search plugins) when removing the xml file like wikipedia-de.xml in folder search plugin. Then the auto-discovery works (icon gets blueish) and you can add or re-add the search engine. Background: the search plugin for Wikipedia (de) in Firefox 3.5 is outdated. The correct plugin syntax for Wikipedia (de) can be found in the xml description file http://de.wikipedia.org/w/opensearch_desc.php . Reproducible: Always
