User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en; rv:1.9.0.12) Gecko/20080528 Epiphany/2.22 Firefox/3.0
Build Identifier: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/

All I see is an error-message in a window when I start FF 3.6 from the tar.bz2-file.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download the firefox-3.6a1pre.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2-file from the Mozilla-FTP.
2. Unpack it.
3. Go into the directory for firefox-3.6a1pre.en-US.linux-i686 and run the bin-file.
4. Error-message window appears instead of the browser.
Actual Results:
I see the window that's showed in the added link.

Expected Results:
The browser should've loaded.

Do you get the same issue in the Firefox safemode ?
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
That command doesn't work since FF isn't installed, just runned.
and why must it be installed to run with the commandline option "-safe-mode" ?
Well, I got command not found.
I wrote firefox -safe-mode.
This code was changed by the checkin for bug 206544 the day before this bug was filed, so it would be an odd coincidence if it wasn't related.
Depends on: 206544

This won't work. Run the startup script instead of the bin-file:
cd firefox (the folder you unpacked it into)
./firefox

If you're still seeing the problem, try starting in safe mode, which disables all add-ons for this session:
./firefox -safe-mode
Note that if you file a bug saying you get an error message, and fail to include the text of the error message, it's very hard to determine what's wrong.
See the URL field:
http://www.geting.se/viewimage.php?image=185998-Firefox-problem.png

That shows this error:

XML Parsing Error: undefined entity
Location: chrome://browser/content/browser.xul
Line Number 1520, Column 9:
        <toolbarbutton id="fullscreen-button" class="toolbarbutton-1 chromeclass-toolbar-additional"
--------^

That code was indeed added by bug 206544. I can't see anything undefined here, though.
I still get that window.
Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.13 or later in safe mode or a fresh profile? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing.
