51099 - Understand group aliases for user identity

We are all the time building queries for this and that and posting and mailing
them all over the place.  For the managers, a majority of these queries are
based on their team's members.  It would help our accuracy a lot if we had
aliases instead of long lists of regexps to handle this.  I'd _love_ to have an
alias called mailnews that I could put in any of the fields that currently take
a user identity.

I'll never forget anyone if I type "mailnews" instead of
"ducarroz|chuang|racham|gayatrib|sspitzer|mscott|rhp|jefft|putterman|alecf|bienvenu|naving|varada|selmer|tonyr".
 Did I get everyone?  I think so, but I'd have to scroll through and count to
tell you for sure :-)

If these group aliases are easily defined by normal people, they will get heavy
usage, guaranteed.

It might also be nice to have regular aliases so I can call putterman by the
monicker he prefers lately which is scottip.  That's probably a can of worms, so
I'm not making this bug about that :-)
