I coulda sworn I used to be able to enter text in the google search box when I ran test-ipc.xul. Seems like it went away, perhaps around the end of last week?
I second this affirmation. current e10s build won't let me enter text in any textbox... on Win32 desktop build.
As of today, (specifically, as of changeset eb2e8946baa1 (bent fix for gtk_init crashing iframes), I now see on Linux that I *can* once again enter text into the google search box in test-ipc.xul. Closing bug--if anyone still sees this (perhaps on win32? Fred23?) please re-open

this bug should stay open, because as of today (changeset 33ec43a38826 - Chris Jones - bug 515242: finish FE support for actor ... ), I still cannot enter text in the google search box with my Win32 Desktop build.
Reopened, as per comment #3. Frederic, feel free to change the status of a bug in this type of situation in the future.

I second Fred. Not working on my Windows build.
I believe smaug has fixed this in his local tree by setting focus correctly...

This is kind of an old bug, but indeed, as of changeset #f80b4464d261, properly setting focus (with "random click") prior to clicking text boxes DOES solve this issue on win32 platforms. Not sure how things are going on that front for e10s_on_fennec, so keeping this bug alive for now.
I fixed the focus handling on Linux (which e10s_fennec is atm), but I don't know about Windows.
This is definitely fixed for the abovementioned platforms. Verified as of this morning 2010-05-31.
