Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090824 Fedora/3.5.2-3.fc12 Firefox/3.5.2

(originally filed as https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=519287)

I just wanted to download my new .fedora.cert in firefox but firefox stored it
as fedora.cert.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. dowload some file
2. use .fedora.cert (or any name starting with dot) as filename
Actual Results:
file is stored as fedora.cert, no warning is given.

Expected Results:
store file as .fedora.cert as requested.
There was a request to explicitly remove the dot in bug 346994. That part was apparently checked in, but the author left it open, because it's not finished. See the comments in that bug (you might want to add a comment, so that can be decided how the bug should be finished).

Note that saving a file with a dot could have genuine security problems, see bug 304345.
