Spun off from bug 512483. Loading https://www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.5.3/whatsnew/ using Firefox 3.5.2 yields: "You’re running an unknown version of Firefox. For security reasons, we recommend downloading the latest and greatest version." 3.5.2, obviously, is the latest shipping version at the time of this filing; when we ship 3.5.3, will this Just Work (tm)?

this is because the check on the valid version number is based on the presence of release notes in isValidVersionByReleaseNotes($version, $file_root, $lang) As soon as 3.5.3/releasenotes/index.html will be on trunk, the bug should disappear.

Page says "You’re now running Firefox 3.5.3. For security reasons, we recommend downloading the latest and greatest version." Firefox 3.5.3 should be the latest , so the for security reasons part should not appear. http://screencast.com/t/urMFwv4sqXwn Reopening bug
