Build Identifier: 8.0b7
i have several new messages in in my inbox. i read one in the preview pane, and mark it as read. i then delete it. after deletion, the next sequential message is not displayed. instead, the "current" message jumps back to the oldest unread message.
this worked fine in 8.0b6, and is newly broken in 8.0b7.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. create an inbox with multiple messages, with several read and several unread, both in groups of read/unread and individually.
2. select any unread message, mark it as read, delete it.
3. the next message visually is seldom the next message displayed.
Expected Results:
after deletion, the next message displayed should be the one that is next sequentially after the one just deleted.

after further usage, this problem also occurs after moving messages, not just deletion.
after moving, the next message displayed seems to be the oldest in the contiguous block of read or unread messages. i.e. if i have 10 contiguous unread messages, mark any one of them as read and then delete it, the "next" message becomes the oldest (topmost displayed) within this contiguous block of messages.

Curiously, does the problem go away if you change the FUMLUB (http://skitch.com/mattdudziak/b6ic8/penelope) setting?
Thanks, Matt

Just to see if the behavior changes, yes.
While you are at it, can you give me details about the account that this is happening with? I see similar behavior, but ONLY with an IMAP connection to an Exchange Server. Is your account IMAP? If so, is it Exchange?
Thanks, Matt

For those with initiative, this bug is fixed in the Penelope hg source code

Otherwise you'll have to wait until the next release, Eudora 8 beta 8/Penelope
