User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2
There are several websites I subscribe to via RSS Feeds. I store them all my feeds in a folder which I'd like to call "RSS Feeds". As of Firefox version > 3.2, every time I open the bookmarks manager, this folder gets renamed to "(no title)".
This does not seem to be happening to any other folder containing static bookmarks and I could not reproduce this on Firefox v3.0.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a folder to store live bookmarks subscribed via RSS feeds from websites and call it something special like "RSS Feeds" etc.
2.Open bookmark manager via "Organize bookmark" menu option (or shortcut)
Actual Results:
The folder containing live bookmarks gets renamed to "(no title)"
Expected Results:
The folder should not get renamed to "(no title)", instead it should remain as "RSS Feeds"

The folder is renamed to "no title" and from such a moment it appears as no title even in the menu, or in the menu is it still "RSS Feeds"?
Does safe mode make any difference? http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
can you open places.sqlite with an external tool (eventually official sqlite3 bin) and execute PRAGMA integrity_check; query on it? Does it report anything different from OK?
Eventually, can you try exporting your bookmarks to JSON (through the library), create a new profile and try to restore bookmarks from that JSON. is the problem still reproduceable in that profile? if yes please send me the json through mail.

Once the folder is renamed to "(no title)", it appears as "(no title)" even in the menu. I have to right click -> properties from the menu and rename it to "RSS Feeds". This rename operation will stick until I open the bookmark organizer again.

Safe Mode made no difference, I can replicate the same behaviour

I checked with PRAGMA and sqlite3 reported the database to be OK

I am afraid I do not know how to export my bookmarks to a JSON file. I can export them to HTML via menu. Is there something I should install?

no, just backup from the Library -> Import & Backup menu.

So, i know that it is, some extensions wrongly uses our internal ORGANIZER_QUERY anno just to add an icon to their folder, this way they broke us and we break them since that annotation is for internal use.
You probably used some extension to manage those RSS Feeds?
You should just create a new folder, move all feeds to it and delete the old folder that is being removed.
confirming because this is known, we could investigate if we should just stop to use an anno to decorate and find queries, stopping this misuse.

Based on the comments above, I did some more researching on my firefox profile.
Turns out that Sage (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/77) extension for firefox is causing all the issues. Everytime I created a new profile, things were fine, the folder did not get automatically renamed. But as soon as I install Sage and point it to the folder containing my feeds, the above behaviour started exhibiting itself.
I have simply moves to using the Brief RSS extension until Sage can get it all sorted out. I will be filing a bug-report with them as well.
