The following fields are supposed to be pre-populated on a visit to the Ask a New Question page: * Firefox version * Operating System * Installed plugins STR: 1. Load https://support-stage.mozilla.org/tiki-view_forum.php?locale=en-US&forumId=1 2. Click on "Ask a New Question" 3. Keep advancing through the dialogs until you get to Step 4 of 4 4. Now, click on "Show details" under "We've made some educated guesses on your current browser setup and operating system."

Further testing bears this out: we're checking for "firefox", I think, and so user agents with: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2a2pre) Gecko/20090917 Namoroka/3.6a2pre (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) aren't getting recognized.
Attached patch patch, v1Splinter Review
After talking to Cheng, we're not doing to directly support the version numbering in non-release versions, which are less than 1% of all SUMO visitors, but in exchange we're adding the full User Agent string to the post. This also replaces the version detection with a more stable method.

I don't know what "directly support" entails, but using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2b1pre) Gecko/20090922 Namoroka/3.6b1pre (.NET CLR 3.5.30729), I'm seeing neither its user agent nor plugins pre-populated in the AAQ form; reopening.

We're not going to support it if it doesn't have Firefox (could break for non Firefox browsers like IE6). Rather than whitelisting allowed browsers (less than 1% of users), we're just putting the full useragent in the post so we don't have to parse it.

Verified FIXED on http://support-stage.mozilla.org/en-US/forum/1/446779 -- I didn't post the UA there, it was automagically filled in. We're not supporting it directly in the AAQ form for non-"Firefox" clients; I get that now :-)
