If you will delete a unread message (for security items a.o.) the message will be switch over in read status and then it will be transfered into trash. This means, that the message will allways opened and you can not delete messages unread. The trash contains only unread messages from the junk folder.

Reproducible: Always

It should be possible to delete unread messages linke in previouse versions.
When you hit the Del key, the message is moved to Trash and also marked as read without actually opening it (as if you had used the "Mark as => Read" menu item before deleting). There is no security breach.

To move the message to Trash and leave it marked as unread, move it explicitly to the Trash folder, either by d&d or by Move to => Trash.
