A reload display the page again, but after a few seconds it blanks out again. This does not happen on a particular site or particular content. It can be news from multiple sites (cnn, time, Washingtonpost,NYtimes, huffpost, TPM), YouTube or somethng else. It began today (9/27). The Firefox release is Firefox/3.5.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729). This does not happen on Chrome. luis Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Load a page 2.start reading it, poof it goes away after 10-30 seconds 3.Can't predict on which page it is going to happen Actual Results: The page goes blank. If I reload it, it comes back. Sometimes it stays. Other times it goes blank again. Expected Results: Keep the page on the screen until I link to something else.
Have you tried support.mozilla.com? Have you tried running Firefox in safe mode?
This could be a flash issue, as I believe all of the sites you listed have flash content. Please update your flash, and try safe mode or a new profile. I have this same problem. Can anyone tell me if this helped? Thanks, Rick
I was seeing this behavior, and related behavior (page would be blank after going to another tab and then returning), but cleared it up by disabling the add-on "RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin 1.0" Do you have this add-on? If so, try disabling it. I was able to reliably repeat the behavior using the site "vimeo". For example, with the add-on enabled, if I navigate to http://www.vimeo.com/7852885, then go to a second tab (any tab, even an empty tab), then return to the vimeo tab, the vimeo tab will be completely blank. I think this is probably a problem with the add-on. If you don't have this add-on, perhaps it is a problem with the add-on system, or with another add-on, so it might be helpful if you try disabling your add-ons one-by-one to see if the behavior clears up.
Just to be clear, I was also seeing the "page blanks after a few seconds" behavior at the same time. It was just less predictable than the "blanks after going to a second tab" behavior. Both cleared up upon disabling the RealPlayer add-on mentioned above.
I've been dealing with this for more than a week. I've had to stop using firefox. The problem seems to be getting worse. Pages go blank (gray). Often times this happens when I start moving around from page to page on a site (all sites) however I can't see Amazon at all. Within seconds after logging on to the Amazon site the whole thing goes blank.
puckerpuss, did you try the steps suggested above?
puckerpuss, I had the same problem and can attest that disabling "RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin 1.0" cures it.
THANK YOU! Disabling RealPlayer totally fixed the problem. Excellent!
I would like to add the following for anyone reading this who does not know how to disable RealPlayer. 1. Go to Tools 2. Click on Add-ons 3. Click Disable RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin 1.0
Please report to real. No reply from the original reporter, so, INCO.

I submitted an issue to Real customer service (091205-004334), with a pointer back to this bug report.
Even after disabling RealPlayer it updated itself and turned back on resulting in the same firefox issues. I don't know BUT perhaps this is as much of a firefox issue as a RealPlayer issue. Maybe firefox needs to play nice with RealPlayer.
Ah, no. Real needs to fix their product. We can't fix it for them. Because it works with it disabled, it shows that nothing is wrong with Firefox. There is a slight chance there could be a conflict, but in that case Real would need to tell us what is going on, because you would not know.
Thanks. I didn't mean to be a snot. I appreciate your help and I enjoy using firefox.
