Screenshot of my attempt on Firebug ;)

Steven,

We'd like to get this page on stage as soon as possible--for Tuesday would be amazing. This page is part of the 3.6 plan, but we want to start testing now.

Basically we'd like to take the page design of http://fr.www.mozilla.com/fr/ and make some tweaks for the mozilla.com site.

It will be in English.

The header is: Tired of IE Crashing? Try Firefox! (Might need to tweak sizing of the font so the exclamation mark doesnt run into the illustration).

Sub-header: It’s time for a change. Upgrade to the fastest, safest, smartest Firefox yet and leave the headaches of Internet Explorer behind.

(Left to right)
Column 1: It’s Faster…
Firefox 3.6 moves with you, with faster page loads, better memory management and the timesaving Awesome bar, it’s hard to beat.
Link: http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/performance/

Column 2: It’s Safer…
Firefox 3.6 offers the safest browsing experience yet, with constant security updates, Instant Web site ID, Private Browsing and Pop-up Blockers, you’ll never have to “deal” with security again.
Link: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/security/

Column 3: It’s Smarter…
Firefox 3.6 gives you the tools to make it your own. With thousands of Add-ons and other customizable settings, you have the tools to make your browser work for you—not the other way around.

Hardware: x86 → All

This page is setup in the firefox3.6 branch in r52852.

The page can be previewed here (might take a few minutes for SVN to update): https://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/try/

Oh, I should have mentioned - I wasn't sure what the links should be labelled in the three columns at the bottom, so they just have "..." as the link text for now. Laura, should those links have separate titles, or should they be linked parts of the paragraphs provided, and if so, which text? Thanks.

Steven,

The page looks great so far.

Few changes:
1) Can you change the copy under the Faster column to:
"Firefox 3.6 is the browser that moves with you, with faster page loads, better memory management and the timesaving Awesome bar, it’s hard to beat."
2) Link for Faster column should say "Learn more about Firefox's real-world performance.
3) Link for Safer column should say " Learn more about how Firefox keeps you safe.
4) Link for Smarter column should say "Learn more about how Firefox works for you.

These changes have been done in the firefox3.6 branch r52864.
Page looks fine to me; from where will this be linked?

This page is meant to be a landing page for us--accessible from google, yahoo if people search for alternatives to IE or IE bugs etc. It's just another way to get in to the site.

I think this page is ready to go.

Stephen, can we verify?

Is this going live soon, or will it wait for the rest of the pages and the 3.6 launch?

Sorry Steven, my comment meant "QA is done,"; obviously we don't want to ship a 3.6-specific page before 3.6 is out :-)

Ok, so I had a word with the metrics team and we want to see if we can release this page as a 3.5 version for testing.

Steven, can we remove all mentions of version number (except int he download graphic which I understand updates automatically) and then we can keep this page up for testing in the next day or so.

I merged this page into trunk and removed the 3.6 references (in r53008). It was merged to stage in r53009.

Test here: https://www.authstage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/try

If all is well, the following files can be pushed to production:
 en-US/firefox/try
 en-US/firefox/try/index.html
 img/tignish/firefox/background-try.jpg
 style/tignish/firefox-try.css
Nits:

[1] "timesaving" should be "time-saving".
[2] "Pop-up Blockers" is that really a proper noun?

Sorry for the last-minute nits.

I'm not able to push the changes to production. This usually falls to John Slater. However, I understand that John is away right now. I'm not sure who else the capability to push changes to production. CC'ing morgamic to answer that.

I'm back and am ready to push stuff whenever. What files need to go live?

(and if I've missed any other nuances here, please let me know...I'm still going through emails)

Oops, I see the list of files in comment #13.

Blake, are we all set here?

I think you're free to just push live. Blake will implement the other 8 pages on his own.
