clicking on the blank part of the scroll bar works fine. but cannot drag the 
scroll bar.

what build are you using? i don't get a scrollbar for either of the font lists
using 2000.09.11.08 (opt comm) on winnt.

jrgm, d'you see this on win2000?

sounds like you might have any old build (?), since scrolling lists are (i
believe) no longer used for the font lists. menulists are now used.

If you have enough fonts installed, then you should get a scrollbar when the
list is sufficiently long. I have a simple xul testcase to show this. 

There are really two bugs going on: 

1) With Windows classic skin on win32/linux, you cannot drag-scroll to the 
   end of the list -- which is what the summary says, so we'll leave that 
   issue to this bug report. 

2) In either the Mac Classic or the Modern skin, I get no scrollbar on a long
   list. Instead I get the auto-repeat variant (which Ben tells me is by       
   design), but the auto-repeat does not  work (so I can't get to the latter 
   part of the menulist's items.).

-> I'm told that this would be hyatt, for the drag-scroll in the menu-list.

Not sure if this should be nsbeta3 (yes, desirable, but if the scrollbar works
then there is a workaround).

cc pinkerton, current owner of all things menu-ish.  If there is a way to select
the font, then I think this is nsbeta3- for toolkit, although it sounds like
there may be skin-specific bugs here.

Sounds to me like this is the only way to select the font, and it is not 
entirely usable work if there are too many fonts.  Is this correct?  If so, then 
this should probably be nsbeta3+.

Note that I filed bug 52225 to cover the problem noted in (2) above: the 
menulist will not autoscroll in the MacClassic and Modern skins. 

There is a way to scroll to the end of the list in WinClassic [this bug]
(use the scrollbar). There is, however, no way to do so in MacClassic and 
Modern.

So this bug then becomes only about problem 1, which is limited to
drag-scrolling failure.  Since you can still select any font in the list,

This works fine for me now, resolving as such.  This was most likely the same as
bug 78344.

mass verification of WorksForMe bugs: to find all bugspam pertaining to this,
set your search string to "IfItWorksForSlappyTheSquirrelThenItWFM".

if you think this particular bug is *still* an open issue, please make sure of
the following before reopening:

a. that it's still a problem with ***recent trunk builds*** on the all
appropriate platform[s]

b. provide clear steps to reproduce (unless a good test case is already in the
bug report), making sure it pertains to the original problem (avoid morphing as
much as possible :)
