I just tried right now, and the buglist returned bug 450310, as expected.

In boolean charts, I typed: "Alias - equals - bmo-upgrade"

Well, the link I give in comment #0 doesn't work for me. The bug is not in any groups. Can you click the link above and tell me if it works or if it doesn't? And if it doesn't, can you find out the differences between the URL that worked for you and the one above?

I tested on landfill's 3.4 branch and tip install and both seems to work fine when searching for the aliases "test" and "test-error" (to rule out problems with the hyphen). Result URL was https://landfill.bugzilla.org/bugzilla-tip/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&field0-0-0=alias&type0-0-0=equals&value0-0-0=test-error

Gerv, are you sure your local install has a bug with "bmo-upgrade" alias? Try with QuickSearch, it will most certainly redirect to the bug with that alias if there's one (or perform a normal QS).
