Reproducible: Always
I'm not sure what you mean. Could you provide some screenshots?
It looks like parts of the page only extend as far horizontally as the text. Compare the grey line at the top of the Support page with the Community page. http://www.mozilla.org/community/ Probably something in the CSS that needs to be tweaked, but could also be worked around by adding more text somewhere on the page.
In <http://svn.mozilla.org/projects/mozilla.org/trunk/style/screen.css>, if there is: #main.with-menu #main-content #main-content-container { float: left; margin-left: 265px; border-top:3px solid #C3C3C3; padding-top: 10px; } If I remove float: left; the line does not get cut off.
We'd just need to make sure that change in comment #3 doesn't break other pages. I'm not well versed enough with CSS to make that call, so I'm CC'ing fantasai.
Yeah, so what's happening is the "float: left" statement causes the box to shrink-wrap around its contents. Since the Support page doesn't have any long lines of content, it winds up being narrower than the full page. Given that the necessary floating behavior is applied to the #main-content <div> wrapped around it, I think "float: left" should be safe to remove in this case. Just make sure you test in several pages with different layouts.
Closing old Mozilla.org website bugs due to them not being relevant to the new Python-based Bedrock system. Re-open if this is a critical bug and should be resolved on the new system too.
