Venkman 0.9.87.4 already installs in Songbird and should be usable via command line switch (for some reason the command line switch isn't doing anything for me however, not sure what's wrong there). It would be better to have the menu item as well. Fixing this is simply a matter of adding one line to chrome.manifest:
> overlay chrome://browser/content/browser.xul chrome://venkman/content/venkman-overlay.xul application=songbird@songbirdnest.com
Songbird UI is compatible with Firefox so that for many extensions (like Venkman) nothing needs to be changed.
