When I reboot it, I have an error message saying "this is embarrassing but" and Firefox cannot reload previous tabs, I have to start a new session. I've disable all addon's but CoolIris and Forecast Fox, and the problem remains. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.either click a link in a secunia notice or go there from my bookmarks 2.click online scanner 3. Firefox crashes - every time. Actual Results: Steps 1 to 3 describe it perfectly. Expected Results: Firefox crashes, i reboot and have an error message saying "this is embarassing but Firefox can't reload your tabs". Just run the online scanner for outdated programs.

Could you please give a link to the scanner? Also, what exact firefox version are you running (there is not 3.3 BTW). Your version should looks something like Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.3a1pre) Gecko/20091029 Minefield/3.7a1pre (.NET CLR 3.5.30729). Also, please try in safe mode and give a crash report id.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 Firefox/3.5.4 The link to the scanner, well, I can't actually do that as it crashes Firefox, but the main url is http://secunia.com from that page you can click to the scanner. They also have a downloadable program PSI which is more thorough and which works independently of my browser. It is just that I've never had trouble running the scanner through Firefox until the last two or three versions. Through IE 8 I can get there, the url that causes the crash is: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/ And I get that We're embarrassed but we can't load your previous windows because one of those windows is that url above which crashes Firefox. I deliberately use very few addon's to avoid issues like this but this is a new one. I will try the safe mode method in a bit.

OK, just tried it, no crash with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.3a1pre) Gecko/20091029 Minefield/3.7a1pre (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) ID:20091029042857. What version of java are you running? This site uses java, so old versions could be causing problems. Uninstall all java version found in your add remove programs dialog, then go to java.com to download the latest version.

I couldn't connect to the network at all from SAFE MODE, so that didn't work. But I did check and was running Java 15, uninstalled that and installed version 16 and that did the trick, the scanner works fine now. Thanks for your help! :^) gene

BTW, the reason you couldn't connect in safe mode was because you were using windows safe mode, not firefox safe mode.

Ah. I didn't know there was such a thing for Firefox. Sorry, but thanks for your help anyway, the java update resolved the issue. :^) gene
