User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; pl; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091017 SeaMonkey/2.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; pl; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091017 SeaMonkey/2.0 I just installed Seamonkey 2.0, and I realized that now every video on youtube hangs for 0.5 second in every 10-15 seconds. It happens in every type of video (low, high and HD quality). It happens in every mode (window and full screen). In Seamonkey 1.x youtube worked without problems. I checked also in other browsers, and there also everything works fine. This problem is only in Seamonkey 2.0. It's very irritating, because now if I want to watch a video, I must open it in different browser. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open for example this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJVL7rxx7p8 2. Watch it for 30-60 seconds to see 0.5 second hangs. 3.
Severity: normal → major
I also observed that when I close Seamonkey 2.0 while watching a video, sound from this video is closed 2-3 seconds later than browser.
And one more thing. This problem is not a loading case. Because videos, which hangs are already fully loaded.
This is because of Session Restore component. Same in Firefox 3.5. You can try to disable Session Restore or increase time between Session Restore dumps it's data to disk from default 10 sec to something bigger. browser.sessionstore.interval about:config value controls it. The default value is 10000 milliseconds (10 seconds). Bug 485976 fixes this on Firefox 3.6 (not yet released), patch already ported by me for SeaMonkey, but it's not possible to fix it in 2.0, because it uses new stuff from Gecko 1.9.2 on which SeaMonkey 2.1 will be based. I'll link this to correspondent bug, when i file it.

Thanks for fast answer. I changed value of browser.sessionstore.interval to 1000000 (and then resarted browser), but it didn't helped. So, maybe the reason of those video-freezes is another periodical behaviour? I measured intervals between freezes and it's always 20 seconds.

well, tetlian, the problem seems to be barely un-noticeable on my Vista SP2 machine with Seamonkey 2.0.3 (Dell laptop with Intel Core Duo 1.86Ghz CPU). however, I somtimes encounter the youtube video problem on a slower computer (Intel Pentium Celeron 766Mhz CPU) that uses XP SP3 and SM 2.0.3. the problem could be caused by something else other than Session Restore. btw, Seamonkey 2.1 will be based on Gecko 1.9.3 and not Gecko 1.9.2/Firefox 3.6, Misak.

problem seem to be worse now that Flash Player 10.1 is out. will try to revert to an older version of Flash to "mitigate" the problem.
As libxul landed and OOP activated, the problem seems gone away. Please test latest nightlies.
