User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Even though I've whitelisted a site, the site claims I'm blocking its cookies. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to http://findit.gmilcs.org/polaris/logon.aspx 2. 3. Actual Results: A page with the following text: ------ Cookies must be allowed Your browser is currently set to block cookies. Your browser must allow cookies before you can use this web site. Cookies are small text files stored on your computer that allow you to perform searches and check your account. To learn how to allow cookies, see online help in your web browser. ------ Expected Results: Login page I have turned on error logging but there are no logs of denied cookies. Changing the CookieSafe setting to "Allow Cookies Globally" allows me to procede to the login page. Is this a problem with subdomains and/or javascript? I have another site that gives similar problems: https://easyweb.tdcanadatrust.com/ and it too seems as though the problem could be related to subdomains and/or javascript.
Does this happen without the addon?
Yes - with a caveat. When enabled, CookieSafe apparently changes the Privacy setting to disable "Accept cookies from sites". When disabled, CookieSafe does NOT re-enable that setting. If the "Accept cookies from sites" setting is re-enabled manually, the blocking desists.
Upon examination of the Javascript used by these sites, it would appear that any attempt to manage cookies is thwarted by (as yet unresolved) bug 230350.
