In Edit Preferences Applications (on windoofs maybe in Tools instead of Edit), there you find two columns: „content type“ an „action“.
But if you choose „Always ask“, firefox will ask you to download or to open certain files with a certain (or another) program. This certain program, firefox will offer you, should be given in a third column in the preferences-dialog!!!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open edit - prefereces - applications
2. choose „Always ask“ for every filetype (e.g. pdf, odt)
3. go to a website, click to a file like pdf, odt, ...

Actual Results:
firefox will ask you either to download or to open the file with a certain (or another) app.

Expected Results:
firefox should offer a certain app I entered in a third column in the edit-preferences-applications-dialog before
rsx, what do you make of this?
It definitely should be supported by mimeTypes.rdf, given that NC:alwaysAsk, NC:useSystemDefault, and NC:externalApplication are separate entries for each individual MIME-type definition. However, I don't know how the actual default is determined if there are multiple NC:externalApplication entries for a given type.
Severity: normal → S3
