those almost certainly contain an option in a non-roman language (indic, hebrew, maybe others). That is all covered by bug 402239.

The text isn't correct and the dropdown menus are too close. And sometimes the dropdown menus are smaller, but that just happens sometimes and i don't know why.

The author of that site sets a font (Arial) different from the default for the select widget. Firefox applies that selection, whereas Safari ignores it, unless some other styling is applied to the widget (border, background-color).
It is probably a poor choice by the author, but there is not much Firefox can do about it.

The font-metrics of that font also explain why the text is slightly to high in the box. That is the same underlying problem as bug 402239.

Also, by default, Safari apply some margins (left and right) to select widgets, Firefox does not.

I'll dupe this to bug 402239, as that covers the issues mentioned here.
