People have been complaining about the new word-breaking algorithm in 10.6 "breaking" the way they're accustomed to selecting URL fragments in the location bar. (Safari appears to have special-cased the old behavior of using . as a separator in the location bar and location bar only; other places displaying URLs in Safari still use the standard OS behavior, which is bizarrely inconsistent.)
Lisa very helpfully discovered that you can change the word-break behavior in the Language and Text prefs, so we should document this: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=8118075#p8118075

I noted this in the forum, but I'll add it here as well: from all the options offered - 'Japanese', 'Greek' or 'English (United States, Computer)' - only the last one does the trick.
I also tested this under a Japanese User Account. There the default is 'Japanese', with the same issue in the location bar. Switching to 'English (United States, Computer)' solves this, but I don't know yet what side effects this may have in other situations.

Given the current state of the Camino project, we won't be fixing these website bugs. Mass changing our Product Site bugs (search on "camino-website-bugs").
