Using sept19 commercial build If a truncated (POP) message (one which has exceeded the download limit set in the Account Settings|Server panel) is moved to a folder in the LocalFolders hierarchy before the rest of the message has been downloaded, clicking the link in the message once it's located in LocalFolders will not work. 1. On a POP account, set the download limit pref in Account Settings|Server panel. Set a low value for the limit, say 2 (kb). Confirm OK. Pref text: "Limit message download to Nkb per message." 2. Send the POP account a message which is over the set download limit. 3. Login to that account, select the inbox and Get Msg. 4. Select the truncated message and move it to a folder within the LocalFolders hierarchy. 5. Open the LocalFolder where the message was moved and select the truncated message. Click the "click here" link within the message display. Result: nothing happens. Expected: full message should download, replacing the truncated copy. Already talked with Jeff T. and this is a future release bug, so will mark it with a milestone "Future"

To fix this we need to create an extra message header say "X-SRCPOP3:" point to the original pop3 server when users are move/copy/filter'ng truncated messages. This way we can tell where to get the truncated message.

Tony, Dave can you reproduce? (or have seen this?)

(In reply to comment #6) > Tony, Dave can you reproduce? (or have seen this?) I don't get truncated messages: for each of my accounts (all of which are POP), under "Disk Space", the checkbox, "To save disk space, do not download [ ] Messages larger than [______] KB" is unchecked. I download everything to the Global Inbox, then filter mail from "known sources" (using preset filters) to other subfolders of LocalFolders as appropriate. So, in my case, sorry, my mail settings make it impossible for this bug to bite me, even if my version of SeaMonkey suffers from it. Summary: Truncated message's link doesn't work if moved to LocalFolders. → Truncated message's link doesn't work if moved to different server or LocalFolders.
As shown by the existence of bug 222896, the link now includes the username and servername, thus this bug should be fixed. Tested and works OK. WFM Thunderbird version 2.0.0.17 (20080914)
