The official support period of 6 months after release of the following version for Thunderbird 2.x will expire on June 8, 2010, 6 months after the release of Thunderbird 3.0. As Thunderbird 2.x is the last remaining product shipping with Talkback, this means we no longer need Talkback once that support period expires.

We should
a) decommission the servers of course
b) plan some sort of party to celebrate getting rid of Talkback, possibly including some mutilation of the old hardware. :)
(this is all pending the certification of the date of course - I just picked 6 months from today off the calendar)
I'll make arrangements with a shooting range in early May...
I also bet Aravind will want to come along...
When we do have a confirmed date, we can start the official countdown.

I have been waiting my entire career for this...
I think all the original contacts at IBM that help in getting that donation have moved on, but when everything is shut down put the IBM server under my desk, in case they ever come asking for it. --
