User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091204 Thunderbird/3.0

I have a filter (which were created in Thunderbird 2) for incoming email to my Inbox which copies and tags (in that order) emails that match any of a set of criteria.
In the Inbox itself, viewing the email displays the proper email body. Viewing it from the folder I had a copy sent to displays the correct Subject, From & Date in the list, but the email preview, as well as opening the email in a tab, results in the incorrect email header & body information. I've identified the email it seems to be copying as the first email (by date) in the account Inbox (from which it was copied from).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Setup a message filter (mine were created in Thunderbird 2) which matches any criteria (all mine use 'contains'), to Copy message to a subfolder, and tag it 'Work' (in that order).
2. Receive an email that contains one of the criteria defined in the filter.
3. Verify message was copied to subfolder.
4. View message from subfolder and compare to expected results.
*NOTE: Ensure there is already on email in the main Inbox for that email account.

Was using 'Mostly Crystal 3.0.1' theme, but tested with Default theme and problem remained.

What kind of account were you copying from (imap or pop), and what are you copying to (imap or local, same server or different server)?

Does this happen 100% of the time, or only sometimes?

The account is a pop account, and was copying to a subfolder created /for/ that same account in Thunderbird (ie: not in 'Local Folders').

Yes it seems be happening 100% of the time. I've received 2 emails on that account overnight that meet that criteria and the email body from within the folder is incorrect (but still the content of the first email in the account Inbox).

Shawn, why did you change the product and component of this bug away from "Mailnews Core/Filters" back to the useless to "Thunderbird/General"?

As the reporter, I will let you do what you want - but your change will result in me ignoring this bug in the future. You need to understand that I interpret that change as "please do not consider this bug when trying to do fixes in the filter area". I doubt if that is what you intended, so what is it that you DID intend to say by that change?

I will not get into a bug edit war with you, but I am happy to ignore your bug if that is what you want me to do.
Sorry, my bad. Didn't mean to do it vindictively. I saw the form and didn't think it looked right. Realized afterwards you probably changed it. Brain hiccup on my part. Sorry. :)

Duplicate of bug 383425?
Shawn, are you using quarantine with pop? If yes, then please dup your bug to 383425

no response, so => incomplete. if you disagree and still see the problem using the most recent version of thunderbird, please follow the advice above, and comment in the bug so it gets attention.
