User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2b4) Gecko/20091124 Firefox/3.6b4
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2b4) Gecko/20091124 Firefox/3.6b4
User Interface uses a strange typeface: All fonts in the user interface (menue, preferences, search, uri bar…) are bold and italic. I have a lot of non-default fonts installed.
See screen shot here: http://bit.ly/FontUI
FF 3.6 Beta 4 on Mac OS X 10.6.
Reproducible: Always

Does it also happen with a fresh profile (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles)? Have you ever seen this in Firefox 3.5.x?

Henrik, it is exactly the same with a fresh profile.
I also realized, that some websites like wikipedia and http://www.ernst-und-sohn.de/ are displayed all in bold type! Screenshot: http://bit.ly/wikipedia-ff
I never hat wrong type in the FF 3.5.x user interface, but also on websites (e.g. all Wikipedia articles are recently displayed in bold italics in FF 3.5, also with a fresh profile).

For me it looks like there is something wrong with the default font on your system. Please check which font Firefox uses (options dialog) and have a look at the font manually.

Try clearing all the font caches (user and system). There are various utilities that can do that (Onyx comes to mind). Or from the command line:
http://www.macworld.com/article/139383/2009/03/fontcacheclear.html
Make sure you restart your Mac after doing so.
Fixed!
I cleaned up my systems fonts with linotype fontexplorer.
Now, the FF 3.6b5 interface uses typefaces correctly. Thx, everyone.

Actually, I (and others, see https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/591991 ) have been having this issue since upgrading to 3.6.
There is a fix that involves restarting the font server, but as the issue sometimes comes back, and it never used to happen (eg before 3.6), I believe a bug was introduced somewhere in the 3.6 line and this bug file should be reopened.
