The splash page announcing the update to the latest version of Firefox at URL http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.5.6/whatsnew/ continues to load in Firefox every time I open it since updating yesterday.  I've checked that my home page is correct.

This happens every time I open Firefox as long as another instance isn't running.  If I open another window of Firefox, it does not display the update page.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Firefox
2.See announcement splash page, with my home page on a tab behind it.

Your browser may be set to open all of the previous tabs that were open previously. Have you closed the tab, quit firefox, reopen firefox?

You should also try creating a new profile and see if the whatsnew page loads.

Yes, I closed the tab before quitting Firefox and reopened, several times. I've checked settings, and it should be opening to my homepage on start. On further poking around, my default profile will not allow me to change my home page now either.  I thought that setting my homepage to something else might reset things, but I click "OK" to save the changes, close the options box, but the homepage goes back to my previous page. When I open Options again, the homepage has reverted.

I created another profile, and that appears to be working appropriately, and does not keep pulling up the whats new page.  Guess I'll move into the new profile.

Did you have any add-ons installed?, sometimes an add-on update or bug can corrupt bits of your profile that causes this kind of thing. 

The support link / support pages I referred you to can also help you backup your bookmarks and migrate them into your new profile.

I only had a few add-ons.  I've already migrated to the new profile.  Thank you for the prompt assistance.  I'll mark this closed for now.
