User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; pt-BR; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; pt-BR; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5

i have already downloaded and installed the Firefox 3.5.6 and when i open the browser every time i get the message to update to 3.5.6, but the update on the menu "help" not work. When i click in "about Mozilla Firefox" my version appears 3.5.5.

Reproducible: Always
Can you download a new version from mozilla.com and install that? It will keep all your old data.
Component: General → Application Update
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
QA Contact: general → application.update
Version: unspecified → 1.9.1 Branch
Please attach the last-update.log after this happens along with the updates.xml
file. If you've installed under program files these will typically be located
under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\ and the last-update.log
is inside the updates directory.

The updates.xml may also be located in your installation directory and the
last-update.log is inside the updates directory.

Please update if you are able to still reproduce the same after downloading a new version from mozilla.com. If yes, please attach the files as mentioned in Comment 2.
Closing since now after whiteboard closeme date and no reply to last comment.

Please reopen/comment with further info, if you still see this issue with Firefox 3.6.13 or later.

If you wish, you can also try to reproduce in Firefox 4 Beta 8 or later:
