User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091215 Ubuntu/9.10 (karmic) Firefox/3.5.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091215 Ubuntu/9.10 (karmic) Firefox/3.5.6 When setting margins to zero when printing a document, you still get a printed document with large, significant margins (about 10mm). Note that on the Windows platform, the behavior is correct: setting margins to zero will produce no or a very small margin. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open any page 2. Set print margins (top, bottom, left, right) to zero 3. Print Document Actual Results: The result is a document with significant margins of about 10mm. Expected Results: The result should be a document with no or small margins. The behavior of the same version of Firefox under the Windows platform, by contrast, seems to be correct.
Does your printer support "full bleed" printing? Most don't, so even if you send a page with 0 margins the printer will still have a "margin". Is any text/images/etc cut off in the print, or is the image centered by 10mm all around?

Is any > text/images/etc cut off in the print, or is the image centered by 10mm all > around? Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; uk; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 GTB7.0 Slackware Linux 13, ASP Linux 11.2, Fedora Core 4, Fedora Core 9. Printers HP 1200 , HP1300, HP1320, HP1020, Samsung scx4200, scx4100 I have the same problem. When I print to a file and set margins = 0 in resulting file we have margins of about 10 mm. This situation also appears in Print Preview (it's impossible to set margins = 0). But header and footer (in contrast to the main document) is very close to the edge.
Solution on the problem: #!/bin/bash for i in `find $HOME/.mozilla/firefox -name prefs.js` do sed -i '/print/d' $i echo 'user_pref("print.print_margin_bottom", "0"); user_pref("print.print_margin_left", "0"); user_pref("print.print_margin_right", "0"); user_pref("print.print_margin_top", "0"); user_pref("print.print_footercenter", ""); user_pref("print.print_footerleft", ""); user_pref("print.print_footerright", ""); user_pref("print.print_headercenter", ""); user_pref("print.print_headerleft", ""); user_pref("print.print_headerright", ""); user_pref("print.print_unwriteable_margin_bottom", 10); user_pref("print.print_unwriteable_margin_left", 20); user_pref("print.print_unwriteable_margin_right", 15); user_pref("print.print_unwriteable_margin_top", 15); user_pref("print.print_paper_name", "iso_a4"); user_pref("print.print_edge_bottom", 0); user_pref("print.print_edge_left", 0); user_pref("print.print_edge_right", 0); user_pref("print.print_edge_top", 0); user_pref("print.print_paper_height", "297,00"); user_pref("print.print_paper_name", "iso_a4"); user_pref("print.print_paper_size_type", 1); user_pref("print.print_paper_size_unit", 1); user_pref("print.print_paper_width", "210,00"); user_pref("print.print_plex_name", "default"); user_pref("print.print_resolution_name", "default"); user_pref("print.whileInPrintPreview",true); user_pref("print.print_scaling","0,97"); user_pref("print.print_shrink_to_fit",false);' >> $i done
