Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2b5) Gecko/20091204 Firefox/3.6b5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2b5) Gecko/20091204 Firefox/3.6b5 JavaScript is now a required component in almost all modern web applications (GMail, Apple.com, Facebook, etc.) and this preference option is no longer applicable and should be removed. If anything, keep it in about:config. Having this option probably causes more harm than good when someone accidentally disables JavaScript and then the web stops working for them in Firefox. Reproducible: Always
(In reply to comment #0) > Having this option probably causes more harm than good when someone > accidentally disables JavaScript and then the web stops working for them in > Firefox. Do you have any proof for this ? I haven´t seen any such reports in Bugzilla.
No.
Then we'll probably scrap this bug.
I hope this option will never be removed just because SOME applications require it. May anybody please set this to WONTFIX?
Forward duping as Bug 851702 has more people CCed, and has a patch attached.
