User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20100104 SeaMonkey/2.0.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20100104 SeaMonkey/2.0.2
When you enter search items in the address bar (to be used by your configured search engine, fwiw, mine is Google)a drop down window opens. When nothing is displayed in the drop down window, the drop down window should close immediately. That it does only after a noticeable delay.
This is cumbersome, as you need to push the up arrow to start search, instead of the down arrow (that I'm used to use).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start entering a search string
2. Drop down box opens, displaying suggestions
3. When no suggestions are displayed, a big empty drop down box is displayed for a while
4. The drop down box closes after a delay
Actual Results:
See http://www.hermod.nl/images/mozilla_search.PNG
Expected Results:
I had to push the up (instead of the usual down) arrow to start the search engine.
The drop down box should close as soon as no results are in the box.
Used theme: Classic Default 0.6 (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/46108)

I've seen this often, too. We should get rid of that effect if we can. Currently I don't know if this still happens on trunk (SM 2.1pre), but maybe only because I have no profile with enough history there. This has been reported against SM 2.0, and I can indeed confirm it there. Adjusting summary slightly.
