User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 I read the following blog here... http://blog.mozilla.com/metrics/2010/01/05/55-of-new-users-install-old-versions-of-firefox/ ...and honestly Firefox should already be checking for newer versions to install during the installation. The installer should automatically opt-in to installing the newer version however as a web designer I install older versions for testing purposes so the ability to opt out is a must. Reproducible: Always Remember, only savvy users have a reason to opt-out and we should have the ability to opt-out. However non-savvy users will not inherently opt-in most of the time since it adds an extra choice and they'll either not understand it or not particularly care (hence why many non-corporate visitors are still using IE6).
Some people actually want to install an older version. For example, they install a new version and an add-on doesn't work, etc. We do want to have a stub installer which would accomplish this same affect while still allowing people to use the current installer to install a specific version. Duping over to the stub installer bug
