Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6

Please see this discussion where the UNMHT extension support confirmed the bug:
http://www.unmht.org/bbs/en_bbs.html?1264336913

System:
* a clean install of FF 3.6 (new profile, new install)
* only one extension installed -- UnMHT (downloaded today, from the website)
* OSX 10.5.7

Problem: an MHT file will NOT open via
(1) double-clicking, even though Firefox /is/ the default app for MHT files (confirmed by right-clicking on the file, then choosing "get info"), or
(2) "right-click/open with/FF"

In both instances, there is no error message.

However, an MHT file WILL open via
(3) drag-&-drop to FF or Opera
(4) "right-click/open with/Opera"

There were no MHT file problems "yesterday" with FF 3.5.7

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. double-click on an MHT file
2. OR right-click on an MHT file, choose "open with" and "FF"
3.
Actual Results:
File will not open; no error message is displayed.

Expected Results:
File should open, just as it did under FF 3.5.7

Duplicate of Bug 509285 (which is duped to Bug 18764) ?
Version: unspecified → 3.6 Branch
To Ria Klassen: this is clearly *not* a duplicate, since this problem only began with the new version 3.6. The other bugs you cited were posted back in 2009. At that time, the but I reported today did not exist (there were no problems w/ MHT files in FF 3.5.x).
So its likely an issue with the unMHT extension and invalid as a bug here.

FWIW are you using Ver.5.4.0.1 which is the one that claims compatibility with Firefox 3.6.

You should contact the extension author for further help and support. He can contact us if he thinks there are any Firefox bugs.

To Robert Longson: I posted a link to the unMHT support page, where one of their staff confirmed it is a FF 3.6 bug, not an extension bug.

Thus, your suggestion that I "contact the extension author" confirms you simply did not even read the bug report which I posted (!).

And, yes, I am using their version 5.4.0.1.

dupe of bug 530064 ?
TO PHILIPPE:

Thank you for the link. The support person at unMHT read your comment, and suggested I try moving an MHT file to a path with no spaces (user/home/downloads/TEST.mht).

I did, and it opens the file "normally" (as it did w/ FF 3.5.7).

So, thank you for your help ! (If you could please tell me, do you have any idea when a fix will be released??)
