(In reply to comment #1) > Created an attachment (id=423564) [details] > the email containing the attachment I see the attachment with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2pre) Gecko/20100120 Lanikai/3.1a1. Can you try in -safe-mode (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode) ?

(In reply to comment #0) Confirmed on Windows 7 x64 with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; ru-RU; rv:1.9.2pre) Gecko/20100119 Lanikai/3.1a1. I see base64 strings instead attachments. In safe mode too.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.3a2pre) Gecko/20100206 Shredder/3.2a1pre This is latest trunk and the problem continues. A really show-stopper.

(In reply to comment #5) > Aureliano is this a windows only bug ? I can't reproduce on my linux box. On Windows 7 I can reproduce the issue: I see the attachment "inline" as show in "message source" conversation and not as simple *.cab file attachment. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.2pre) Gecko/20100210 Lightning/1.0b2pre Lanikai/3.1b1pre ID:20100210050942

I have a similar issue (therefore not filing a new bug) in that BASE64 attachments are showing up inline in raw (non-decoded) form. The mail item does not show an attachment as existing. If I turn off show attachments inline, there is no difference. Same in safe mode. Windows 7 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.2pre) Gecko/20100302 Lanikai/3.1b1

Hmm, on a second thought it was easy to check. It seems fine with Thunderbird 5.0 in Arch Linux x64.
